The Mystery of God’s Love

First, we need to understand that God’s love is unconditional, which means it is not based on what you do or don’t do. In fact, He loved us while we were still sinners. A lot of people associate material blessings with the love of God.

Some believe one is blessed materially to the degree in which he or she loves God and that is not exactly the truth. There are many unbelievers which have a lot of wealth yet don’t even know God.

The Kingdom blessings ladies and gentlemen supersedes natural wealth, Kingdom wealth can be both tangible and intangible whilst earthly wealth is only in tangible form.

Kingdom blessings includes such things as

1) Righteousness – path to eternal life
2) Peace
3) Joy in the Holy Ghost

Romans 10:17; “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”.

FAITH IS CONNECTED TO LOVE

The Bible places a great deal of emphasis in Galatians 5:6 where it says – and I quote “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love”.

In the 3rd chapter of Ephesians starting from verses 1, Apostle Paul explains about the mystery of God’s grace and love. The Church exists to be a living testament of God’s grace because He made us to be fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

In the final verses of Chapter 3 (v.14-21), Paul expresses his sincere desire that every believer would come to have a personal and deep understanding of God’s love for us. He wants us to know that God’s love exceeds our pre-conceived definitions, measurements, and expectations. This love is fully expressed in Christ and when we know and receive His love, we discover that God’s power is at work within us! God’s power will NOT work without the love of God infused in it. When we walk in the love of God, power to perform the works of God is automatically available to meet all human needs.

The 3 important things to know and understand about God

  1. God does not validate his goodness or eternal love through the suffering, affliction, and the misfortune of others. Therefore, the common statement ” God thank you for giving us good health while others are in hospital fighting for their health… etc..” is irrelevant in the eyes of God. Why? because the love of God for us does and will never manifest itself through the suffering of others.
  2. God loves all of us equally even though we may be in different situations. He has presented an equal opportunity of salvation to all of us. It`s now upon each one of us to make a choice.
  3. Wealth and worldly success is not necessarily an indication of blessings from God. Why? because it could be possible that one is wealthy from worldly system. It could also be possible that one is rich while another is poor due to work related activities. What does that mean? One can be without money and yet have a lot of peace whilst another can have a lot of money but without peace.

1 John 4:8 (KJV)
“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

God explicitly explains His unconditional love in the Bible book of 1 Corinthians. Let us look at it verse by verse.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 (KJV)
“1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity”.
